Westinghouse Electric Corporation Docket No. 99900330/79-01 NOTICE OF DEVIATION Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted on November 27-29, 1979, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in accordance with NRC requirements as indicated below:
Criterion XVII of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50, states in part, " Sufficient records shall be maintained to furnish evidence of activities affecting quality... Records shall be identifiable and retrievable. Consistent with applicable regulatory requirements, the applicant shall establish requirements concerning record retention, such as duration, location and assigned responsibility."
Contrary to the above, the QA Manual procedures do not address requirements for storage, retention, location, duration, environment, etc., for QA records for l
Class 1E, safety-related equipment. Also the Switchgear Division does not pro-vide suitable fire protection for the storage of pertinent contract, manufac-turing inspection, test, certification, and QA data for each customer / project i
records for Class 1E switchgear products.
