NARRATIVE

REPORT Georgia Power Company Plant E. I.. Hatch Baxley, Georgia 31513 Reportable Occurrence Report No. 50-366/1980-069.

On April 21, 1980, while performing HPCI system rated flow test, 2E41-F012, Minimum Flow Control Valve, began cycling from full closed to full open for no apparent reason.

The cause of the event has been attributed to. component failure. The flow switch for the Hi/Lo signal to the minimum flow valve, 2E41-N006, failed.

The switch was replaced, successfully retested and returned to service.

There was no effect on public health or safety nor was safe plant operation affected. This is a repetitive event as last reported on Reportable Occurrence Re' port No. 50-366/1980-009. The generic review of the event did not reveal any inherent problems.
