SUMMARY

l Brunswick No. 1 l Brunswick Unit No.1 operated at a 38.5% capacity factor for the month of  ! April. The following power changes and shutdowns occurred during the month: March 31: A trip of the unit auxiliary transformer feeder breaker caused a reactor scram. April 3: Power limited because of probicms with the HPCI automatic start test. April 5: High vibration during a control valve periodic test caused a turbine trip and a reactor scram. April 8: Problems with electrical grounds on #2 diesel generator caused a turbine trip and reactor scram. J I j April 15: A replica of the April 8th outage. Problems with the grounds on

                                                        #2 diesel generator.

April 22: Power reduced to perform condenser waterbox work. April 26: Excessive drywell leakage caused a unit separation to repack a valve. Total "down time" was 275.8 hours resulting in a 61.6% Availability Factor. For aore detailed information on individual outages, see the Unit Shutdowns and i Power Reductions Log (Appendix D) for this month. i l
