Dear Dr. Walter:

SUBJECT-TOPICAL REPORT G+W-FSD-2538 Regarding your letter of January 8,1980, we would like to advise you that we have taken steps to initiate our review of topical report G+W-FSD-2538. Our review will be conducted on a schedule consistent with the review schedule for the Seabrook application, which appears to be the earliest application which will utilize the main steam isolation valve system described in the subject topical report.

Since the Seabrook application is currently scheduled for OL issuance in early 1983, our review of G+W-FSD-2538 may no progress to the point where we can identify any addit'onal information required for some period of time.

We will advise you of more of the details of our review schedule as the allocation of staff resources progresses.

Sincerely,
