Dear Mr. Berry:

The Comission has issued the enclosed Amen.dment No. 29 to Facility Operating 1.icense No. DPR-64 for the Indian Point Nuclear Generating Unit No. 3.

This amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your application transmitted by letters dated December 3,1979, December 18, 1979 and Januar/ 4, 1980.

The amendment changes the Technical Specifications to increase the operability requirements for the auxiliary feedwater pumps and to limit the control rod misalignment, and adds a license condition to require a secondary water chemistry monitoring program.

Ccpies of the Safety Evaluation and the Notice of Issuance are also enclosed.
