Dear Dr. Patton:
I am writing in response to your letter of May 19, 1979, requesting a copy of an interim report of a Special Task Force investigating the Three Mile Island accident.
I regret that this answer to your letter has been delayed.
The accident and its consequences have created a substantial increase in the agency's workload, which has prevented me from responding to you as promptly as I would have liked to.
1 Several Task Force reports have been issued regarding the TMI accident, but none has appeared as an " interim" report.
Because I am unsure which Task Force your letter alludes to, I am enclosing here summaries of three NRC reports on the accident, one of which may meet your information request.
Enclosed are summaries of NUREG-0558, NUREG-0600, and NUREG-0578.
