I Discussion:
The initial sele.ction of sites for resident inspectors j

Involvement of all Regions.
e Mix of facilities in the three phases--operations, e
preoperational testing, and construction.
Mix of sites with high.and low numbers of real or e
apparent problems.
Available heavy workload to permit inspectors to e
build an experience base as rapidly as possible.
(
e Mix of types of reactors.
The eight sites selected for the beginning of the Resident Inspection Program are:
Millstone Point Salem Browns Ferry F @ !l % % R I North Anna yl h" '"S eU D. C. Cook C

.1_ x 21 Midland Arkansas Nuclear 1 1
San Onofre i
The chosen facilities represent a good cross section for gaining diverse experience during the early stages of the Resident Inspection Program.
This experience will contribute %
greatly to the final program development, and it was con-O sidered vital that the selections be made representative.of the spectrum of conditions that may be encountered later.
