A RESOLUTION WITHDRAWING THE TOWN OF CORNELIUS,

NORTH CAROLINA, FROM MEMBERSHIP IN THE PIEDMONT ELECTRICITIES ASSOCIATION AND FROM PARTICIPATION AND INTERVENTION IN DUKE POWER COMPANY, AEC DOCKET NOS. 50-269A, 50-270A, 50-2877, 50-369A, AND 50-370A.

WHEREAS, in the past, the Town of Cornelius joined the Piedmont E3ectricities Association and participated in the activities of that organization, and WHEREAS, in the past the Town of Cornelius joined in a Petition for Intervention along with other municipalities in the above-captioned Atomic Energy Commission proceeding concerning the status and activities of Duke Power Company, and WHEREAS, by resolution of the Board of Commissioners on February 16, 1971, the Town of Cornelius withdrew from me:,nbership in the Piedmont Electricities Association, and WHEREAS, the above-captioned Atomic Energy Commission proceeding is in progress, and WHEREAS, Mr. J. A. Bouknight, Jr., counsel for Piedmont

Electricities Association in connection with said proceedings has

requested clarification of the position of the Town of Cornelius with respect to participation and continued intervention of the 4

Town in said proceedings, and S

c WHEREAS, the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board by order issued February 20, 1973, directed the Town of Cornelius to indicate its intention with respect to withdrawal as an intervenor in the aforementioned proceeding.

NOW, THEREFOAE, beit resolved by the Board of Commissioners of the Town of Cornelius, North Carolina, that the Town of Cornelius has and hereby does withdraw from membership in the Piedmont Electricities Association and from intervention in the above-captioned AEC proceeding.
