Dear Mr. Moseley:
Your letter of January 3, 1974, which transmitted R0 Bulletin 74-1, requested that we determine whether veld failures between the valve yoke and the motor operator mounting plate in valves supplied by the Walworth Company existed at Oc; nee Nuclear Station, or were scheduled to be installed at the McGuire Nuclear Station. It has been de.ter-mined that no such defects exist on this type of Walworth valve installed at Oconee Units 1, 2, and 3.
The valves manufactured by the Darling Valve and Manufacturing Company and described in Attachment B of the bulletin are not installed at Oconee Nuclear Station.
Information concerning installation of similar valves at the McGuire Nuclear Station will be forwarded to you by Mr. W. H. Owen, Vice President, Design Engineering, on February 1, 1974.
