NCH 50-269, 270, 287, 369, 370 Duke Files 05 20.7.0 r, MC-1412.13 in response to Directorate of Regulatory Operations Bulletin No. 74-1, dated January 3,1974, Walworth valves similar to those described in the report will be installed in our McGuire Nuclear Station. The engineering program associated with these valves was carefully reviewed subsequent to the incident outlined in R0B No. 74-1.

Results of this review indicate that these valves will not be deficient nor will weld failures occur.

Two inch Darling valves will not be installed at the McGuire Station.

A response concerning these valves at our Oconee Nuclear Station was transmitted to you in a letter from Mr. A. C. Thies dated January 31, 1974 Very truly yours, W
