Dear Mr. Moseley:
The Babcock & Wilcox Company submitted to the AEC Topical Reports BAW-1403, Investigation of Major Component Weld Records" Revision.1, June, 1973, and BAW-1402, " Investigation of Steam Generator Weld Records" January, 1973.
These reports have been reviewed by the AEC with the conclusion that components referenced in these reports are acceptable for their intended use. Attached for your information are copies of letters dated June 19, 1973 and April 24, 1973 from Mr. R. H. Engelken, Assistant Director for Constructics and Operation, Directorate of Regulatory Operations, to Mr. J. F. Mallay, Manager, Licensing, of the Babcock & Wilcox Company which document the AEC's position on these reports.
Copies of the Topical Reports BAW-1402 and BAW-1403 are available for your inspection at Oconee Nuclear Station.
