Dear Sirs:
It is requested you undertake an independent hydrologic engineering review of the flood potential for the Oconee Nuclear Power Plant (referred to as Docket No. 50-269).
The analysis should consider the material suggested in section 2.4 of the draft Standard Format and Content of Safety Analysis Retarts (SAR) for Nuclear Power Plants, dated Feb ruary 19 72.
It is requested that you summarize your review in a latter report to me no later than November L$. Applicable material furnished

by the applicant, which may be of use in your analysis, is being furnished under separate cover.
It also is requested you undertake the review of the hydrologic enginauring portions of the SAR aubmittal in support of the application for a construction permit for the Catawba Nucisar Power Plant, using section 2.4 of the draft Standard Format and Content of SAR's for Nuclear Power Plants as a guide, to consult with the staff in our review of this project.
Questions for transmittal to the applicant are scheduled for completion by November 15, 1972.
Your review of the SAR, and subsequent information provided by the applicant, should be furnished in the form of a letter summary report (scheduled data not yet eatablished) prior to the com-plation of the staff review.
