INTERIM STAGING FACILITY In response t your nemo of September 14, 1979 subject as above, we agree to an extension of the interim staging facility frcia November 1,1979 to l
December 1,1979 or until such time as the concrete storage area is completed

based on the following conditions:

- 1) Liners stored in the interim facility are to be protected from the f
freese-thaw cycle by use of a temporary heating system, and 3

- 2) Submit for NRC review the heat transfer calculations to demonstrate the adequacy of the heating system.

In the interim, an effort should be made to ship the spent EPICOR-I liners l
g currently stored in the interim facility to Richland to minimize the risk i
associated with the handling and storage of these liners.
