Dear Mr. Bauer:
This letter confirms the staff's oral authorization (telephone call by M. Fairtile, NRC, to R. Fleshman, Philadelphia Electric Company, July 19, 1980) to amend, temporarily, the Technical Specifications for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Unit No. 3.
The amendment revises temporarily, Technical Specification 3.ll.D.2 as it applies to snubber 10-GB-S-44 which is located on the RHR system. The temporary change permits inoperability of this snubber for 10 days in lieu of 72 hours8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br /> to permit orderly repair of this snubber or verification of its design margin for assuring operability, as appropriate.
This authorization was in response to your telecopied request dated July 18, 1980.
A formal amendment package including our Safety Evaluation and Notice will be forwarded to you in the near future.
