Corrected Copy Appendix A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Toledo Edison Company Docket No. 50-346 Based on the inspection conducted on May 12-16, 10-23, 28-30, June 2-6, 9-10, 1980, it appears that certain of your activities were in noncompli-ance with NRC requirements as noted below. This item is a noncompliance 4
of the deficiency level.
10 CFR 50.72 requires nuclear power reactor licensees to notify the NRC Operations Center within one hour of any accidental radioactive release and of any event requiring initiation of any section of the licensee's emergency plan.
Contrary to the above:
a.
On May 13, 1980, approximately 3.7E-04 curies of xenon-133 was released when maintenance personnel cut in the unisolated side of a waste gas line relief valve and the NRC Operations Center was not notified..
b.
On June 2, 1980, at 8:55 p.m. the licensee's emergency plan was implemented during a tornado warning and the NRC Operations Center was not notified.
