19406 License No. DPR-35 Docket No. 50-293 Response to IE Inspection No. 80-14

Dear Sir:

Inspection No. 80-14, dated May 15, 1980, contained one item of non-compliance.

Boston Edison Company's response to that item is presented as follows:

Deficiency Appendix A to 10CFR55 requires records to be kept for requalification programs for licensed operators of production and utilization facilities. The Pilgrim Training Manual, Revision 3, approved May 31, 1978, prescribes Form 0-3, PNPS Licensed Operator Requalification Summary for a portion of this record keeping.

The Manual requires posting of the results of the annual requalification ex-amination and an annual review of the training record of each licensed operator.

Contrary to the above, the 1979 examination results and the Station Manager's review were not documented on the Forms 0-3 reviewed for ten licensed operators, although ample evidence of the administration and analysis of the annual examina-tion and personnel evaluation was available.
