Issuance of Director's Decision Under 10 CFR 2.206 9
On April 9,1980, notice was published in the Federal Register (45 Fed.
Reg. 24293) that Wisconsin's Environmental Decade Inc. (DECADE) had requested that the Nuclear Regulatory Comission issue an order to show cause and an order enjoining operation of Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Unit 2, because of steam generator tube degradation at the facility. The petition was referred to the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation to be treated as a request for action under 10 CFR 2.206 of the Comission's regulations. After a review of the relevant l
infomation, the Director h.as detemined that the Point Beach Unit 2 facility can continue to operate without undue risk to the public health and safety.
Accordingly, the request by DECADE has been denied.
Copies of the Director's decision are available for inspection in the Comission's Public Document Room,1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, D. C. 20555 and at the Document Department, University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point Library, Stevens Point, Wisconsin 54481. A copy of this decisica will also be filed with the Secret.try of the Commission for review by the Comission in accordance with 10 CFR 2.206(c) of the Comission's regulations.
