As a result of our continuing revied of the North Anna FSAR, we find tnat we need additional infonnation to complete our evaluation related to your request of June 18, 1980, regarding the addition of fifteen snubbers. The specific information required is listed in the enclosure.

Our review schedule is based on the assumption that this additional information will be available for our review by July 7,1980.

If you cannot meet this date, please inform us immediately so that we may revise our schedule accordingly.

JUL 2 1980 ENCLOSURE REQ' JEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION NORTH ANNA POWER STATION, UNIT 2 DOCKET NO. 50-339 With regard to your request of June 18, 1980, related to the addition of fifteen additional snubbers, we require the following additional information before licensing for full power operation:

1.

A list of all North Anna Unit 2 piping systems which are not similar to those in North Anna Unit 1.

(By not similar we mean that the system model, analysis and results for a given system in Unit 1 are not directly applicable to the same system in Unit 2.)

2.

A comitment to resolve the seismic analysis issue for these yste:ns as is being done for North Anna Unit 1.

3.

Provide design and construction information for the safety injection system where the fifteen snubbers will be added (we believe that this system is described by MSX 104B), as follows:

a.

A detailed explanation for this action.

b.

The MSK or problem number of the same system in North Anna Uni t 1.

c.

Isometric drawings (as-built condition) indicating where additional snubbers will be added.

d.

Relevant response spectra at the supports Computer print out showing the input to the problem, complete e.

static and dynamic analyses in the original and modified configurations, and the corresponding ASME stress calculations.

The analyses in the modified configuration should be based on envelope spectra as per verbal commitment.
