Dear Mr. Eisenhut:

SUBJECT:

LANDSLIDE INVESTIGATION PROGRAM SCHEDULE F

Additional landslide stability investigations near the GETR have been under discussion for some time. A proposed program was forwarded to the NRC on April 17, 1980. The NRC Staff's Safety Evaluation Report of May 23, 1980, e

stated that this program provided a generally acceptable investigation pro-gram and should provide sufficient data regarding the stability of the e

hillside deposits for the staff to evaluate the potential hazard.

h The field program began on June 23, and it is planned that a final report be

'sent to your office between August 15 and August 29, 1980.

It is expected that a Safety Evaluation Report Addendum regarding the landslide stability would be issued shortl.y thereafter.

The Safety Evaluation Report also recommended that a monitoring program for possible future movement be added.

Monuments have been constructed and one baseline measurement made.

A report describing that which has been done and future plans will be forwarded to you by July 25, 1980. This monitoring l

program is to measure distance changes only and is not intended to provide h

data for evaluation prior to the issuance of the landslide stability SER supplement.

h Very truly yours,
