of Arkansas Nuclear One Unit 1 (ANO Unit 1), the staff concluded certain conditions lietting station operation were necessary to protect the environ-

ment. These conditions were defined in the Final Enviromental Statement for AND Unit 1, issued in February 1973. In addition, the assessment was based, in part, on the assumption that limits on certain plant parameters described in the ANO Unit 1 Envirorumental Report and its supplements would not be exceeded.
Pursuant to section 50.50 of 10 CFR Part 50, each operating license for a nuclear power plant issued by the Cameission will contain such conditions and limitations it deems appropriate and necessary. Certain conditions and limitations corresponding to key parameters of the NEPA environmental review shall be incorporated into the operating license as environmental technical specifications. Accordingly, we request that Arkansas Power and Light Company prepare and submit to the Directorate of Licensing by July 13,1973, pmposed environmental technical specifications.
The information you provide will be evaluated and used to develop the environmental technical specifications which will be incorporated, as Appendix B, into the operating license for ANO Unit 1.
Please infom us within seven (7) days after receipt of this letter of the date the requested information will be provided. Your submittal of environmental technical specifications should consist of three signed originals and 40 additional copies.
