Facility:

Arkansas Nuclear One-Unit 1 Russellville, Arkansas 5.

Identification of Oc'currenc.e:

Turbidity increase in plant circulating water exceeded Environmental Technical Sp'ecification limits per ETS 2.3.3 and ETS 4.1.1.a(4).

6.

7.

Description of Occurrence:

~;

Sampics taken at intake and discharge show that turbidity in the discharge canal.was 200% greater that turbidity in the intake canal (intake - 10 JTU,

' discharge - 30 JTU).

Analysis of Occurrenec:

It is believed that sanrples taken were not truly representative of lake conditions; taerefore, occurrence is not realistic. Four circulating water pumps were running at time of sample collection and no liquid releases were in progress. No trash grinding was'in progress.

Corrective Action:

l Turbidity and conductivity tests will be performed as soon as possible following sample collection in the future to interrogate results.

_ Questionable.results will b,e verified by resampling.

In addition, testing is being done to verify sample accuracy.
