Designation of Apparent Cause of Occurrence:
Design Procedure Manufacture Unusual Servico Condition Including Installation /
Environmental l-Construction
- Component Failure Operator j
. 0ther (Specify) f 1
The apparent cause was due to a decrease in water temperature from 59'F to 53*F in a three day period. This resulted in a weakening of the threadfin shad. This allowed them to become vulnerable to impingement by the intake current.

9.
Analysis of Occurrence:
There was no recogni::able environmental impact other than the loss of i
the above described fish.
- 10. Corrective Action:
Corrective action was taken in accordaice with procedure 1607.10. His included continuous monitoring for another 24 hour2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
period, n e findings of this 24 hour2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
period was that only 1187.5 pounds of fish were impinged.
