During routine fish' impingement monitoring 2/15/75, using procedure i
1607.10, Monitoring Fish Impinged on ANO-1 Intake Screens, 3205 pounds of fish were collected during a 24-hour sample period beginning at 8:00 a.m. 2/14/75 and ending at 8:00 2.m. 2/15/75. A mixture of gizzard and

threadfin shad comprised 99% of the total weight. 'Other fish made up 1% of the total weight. Threadfin shad comprised 96% of the total number i
of shad.

The apparent cause was due to a natural die off of threadfin shad during the~ winter season.

Analysis of Occurrence:
(h The only noticeable environmental impact was the removal of the above

mentioned fish from the lake. The fish that were collected were dis-posed of through land fill operation.

Corrective Action:
Long term studies are in progress to determine the effects of plant operation on the aquatic ecosystems of the Dardanelle Reservoir.
Data

from this report and other data obtained is fed back into these studies to determine what changes might be made to the studies in order to ensure that adequate data is obtained for evaluating plant impact.
Review by Arkansas Power 4 Light Company and its consultants of the results of these studies will determine what corrective action might be taken to reduce plant effects on the Reservoir.
