DEFICIENCY REPORT ON CONTROL ROD DRIVE MOTOR TUBES
The subject inquiry report is forwarded for action.
The deficiency discovered in the control rod drive motor tubes appears
to be's manufacturing process defect that probably exists in tubes at
other Babcock & Wilcox facilities. Therefore, you may wish-to examine this
,

matter,.as appropriate, with licensees and B & W.
We plan to review the
action taken on SMUD's tubes at the' time of our next inspection.
The licensee will make a 30-day report to C0 in accordance with the
requirements of 10 CFR 50.55.
