20545 Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station, Unit No.1 AEC Docket No. 50-312

Dear Mr. Giambusso:

The additional information requested in your letter of July 13, 1972 concerning the analysis of a core flooding tank line break is being prepared by our reactor vendor, Babcock & Wilcox.

Every effort will be made to submit the information by August 14, 1972.

The analysis of the guillotine break between the reactor vessel nozzle and the first check valve in the core flooding tank line will be done under the usual assumptions for a large reactor coolant system break and will demonstrate that the system response meets the criteria set forth in the Interim Policy Statement.

Babcock & Wilcox will be in direct contact with your office in regard to clarifying the application of the Evaluation Model to this particular analysis.

Respectfully submitted SACRAMENTO MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT f
