Dear Mr. Collins:
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(1-1), the Sacramento Municipal Utility District is requesting approval of changes to our Administrative Procedure AP 25, Licensed NRC Operator Retraining.
The changes consist of:
1.
Remove all references to the AEC, replacing with the NRC.
2.
Change from a lecture requirement of four hours per month to a two-year requalification cycle lecture requirement of sixty hours.
SMUD feels this reduction is justified since each license holder receives both a written and an oral examination annually.
The annual oral examination is not a requirement of 10 CFR 55.
3.
Change the guidelines of the written examinations f rom 10 CFR 55.21 and 55.22 to the guidelines of 10 CFR 55, Appendix A, Section 2,(a-1).
