Newcark Consulting Engineering Services is hereby requested, to the conditions of Contract No. AT(49-5)2667, to provide pursuant the-following services for the Comission concerninr: the proposed construction of Florida Power Corporation's two pressuri:cd water nuclear reactors, designated as Crystal River Units 3 & 4 Nucicar Generating Plant, on the Corporation's site on the Gulf of Mexico, 70 niles north of Tampa and about 7-1/2 miles northwest of Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida:

1.

Analyses of the engineering fcctors included in the pro-posed design to minimize damage from coismically-induced ground motions.

2.

Preparation of a report on (1) above.

3.

Serving as an expert witness in the public hearing on these facilities.

The maximum amount payable to your firm on this project is $3,000.00.

Enclosed.for your review are Volumes 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the Florida Power Corporation Preliminary Safety Analysis Report.

On'the basis of our tentative schedule for this project, it would be desirable to have your report availabic for our r se by recember 1,1967.

By Novenber 1, 1967 ue would hope to be abic to discuss with you the results of your prelit.inary evaluation.
