OITISTANDING ITEMS, DAVIS-BESSE 1 In reply to your memo of August 29, 1974, concerning outstanding itens to be considered in the Davis-Basse 1 OL review, Sita Safety has noted, and will examine during its review, the following:

Item I.

Flood Protection level: Site Analysis Branch, Hydrologic Engineering Saction (SAB-H) vill review. We note that the adequacy of the Ultimate Heat Sink is also of concern.

SAB vill review this subject as a secondary responsibility to A & p CSB.

Item IV. C.

Post-Accident Hydrogen Control: Accident Analysis Branch (AAB) nor= ally evaluates purge doses as requested by Contafsmant Systete Branch. Davis-Bessa Unit #1, however, had its notice of construction pernit hearing published between December 22, 1963 and Nove=ber 5,1970 and based on the recenber 12, 1972 meco from 3. Grimes to J. Hendria was required to have redundant reco::biners. This meno stated that in such cases, "...no dose computations need to be performed and that done guidelines for current plants do not apply."

Raduasta Discharges:

SAB-H will provide input on liquid dispersion for the radiological assessant of effluents, if requested by Radiological Assessment Branch for any up-dating of the environantal statement.
