Dear Mr. Stolz:
Under separate cover, we are transmitting three (3) original and forty (40) conformed copies of an Application for Amendment to Operating License No. NPF-3 for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1.
The application requests that the surveillance requirements for the Station Batteries given in the Technical Specifications be changed to less stringent, more realistic criteria which will still assure an operable battery. These changes will result in fewer unneccessary reportable occurrences involving the Station Batteries.
