4.6.11 TO BE CONDUCTED ON NON-CLASS IE CIRCUITS THAT INTEVACE WITH THE RPS SYSTEM - DAVIS-3 ESSE, UMIT 1 Pursuant to our request for additional infornation by letter dated " arch 17, 1977, we have completed our review of your submittal of tiarch 25, 1977, regarding the adequacy of the Davis-Cesse Unit 1 design for non-separation of class IE and non-Class IE wiring inside the Reactor Protection Svstem (RPS) and Engineered Safety Features Actuation Systen (ESFAS).
We find your submittal of test proposals which will be conducted on the RPS & ESFAS to deronstrate that the im31emented design will not decrade safety systens below an acceptable level are accectable.
However, you were advised in recent conversations with the staff that in addition to your presently oroposed tests, we will require that noise tests in accorc'ance with "il. Standard 1990, Section 4.6.11 (or ecuivalent) he conducted on the non-Class IE circuits that interfac2 with the 7PS in order to satisfy the objectives of Section 4.6 of IEEE Standard C79-1953.
A condition on the operating license for Davis-Besse, Unit I will stipulate that test procedures (as identified above) he submitted to the staff and found acceptable prior to plant operation in l' ode 2 (startun) as defined in the Davis-Besse, Unit i Technical Specificatinns.
In addition these tests shall be completed and the test results submitted for our review prior to the first-refuelings or ro later than 18 nonths of povier operation, whichever cores first.
