As discussed with you at each of the recent regional meetings relating to 10 CFR Section 73.55, " Requirements for physical protection of licensed activities in nuclear power reactors against industrial sabotage," enclosed is a copy of the Intrusion Detection Systems Handbook, SAND 76-0554, dated November 1976. This handbook was prepared by the Fccilities Protection Department, Sindia Laboratories, Albuquerque, New Mexico under contract with the Division if Safeguards and Security, U. S. Energy Research and Develop-ment Administ ation and is made available for your information as a reference source for usi in the design, installation, and operation of intrusion detec-tion systems.
