Brown of the Engica 1 Compliance office on April 11 - 14, 1972, at the Babcock and Wilcas Company located in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, of activities authorised by ABC Construction ferme No. 80 end to the discussions of our findings bold by Mr. Broun with Mr. R. L. Hoders and other management permann=1 of the Babcock and Wilcox Company at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined dering this inspection included a review of the fabrication records and hardware for the Davis-Desse reactor pressure vessel, pressurizer, and reactor coolant piping. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective ava=inations of proceduras and representative records, intervieve with Babcock and Wilcox plant personnel, and observariana by the inspector.
No items of noncosy14=nem with AIC requirements were identified vithin the areas a w ned during this inspection.
I With regard to geestions raised during this inspection, we undersernd that Babcock and Wite== will detemina the status of the material qualificatica for the reactor vessel flange, Serial No. 7-214-51-1, and that Babcock and Wilcom will performa tests on the flange, as necessary, to assure coeflormance with the applicable codes and specifications. Mis itsen will be ow ned during our next inspection at the Babcock and Wileon Mt. Vernon plant.
