The Atomic Energy Comission has issued an Order extending the construction completion date for Duke Power Conpany's Cconee !!uclear Station, Unit 3.
In lieu of the completidh date ofgJune 30,1974, as i
specified previously in Provisional Construction Pcmit "o. CPPR-35, the latest corpletion date has been extended to Septeter 30, 1974.
The staff finds that the applicant's explanation in its letter of
- tay 14,1974, that the delays in the Gconee Ituclear Station, Unit 3, construction were due to (1) nodification' to high encray lines, (2) inspection and modification of reactor coolant pumps, and (3) materials I.
shortage are reasonabic and shows; good cause for the delay.
Since the action does not involve significant hazards consideration, the staff has concluded that prior public notice is not required.
Trio ccpics of a request for 6ftension of the completion date from the Duke Power Company, together with two copies of the Order, are erclosed for the infomation of the Corrittee. The Order has been transmitted to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
