AUGUST 16, 1972 L. G. h1 =an, Site Safety Branch, and I met with Bill Parkte of Duka Power Company on August 16, 1972 to receive data on the seimmic analysis of the Joessses dam spillway which Duka volunteered to provide us as a consequence of the August 7, 1972 meeting with Duke concerning oconee hydrology. Site Safety has two copies of the data. One copy will be retained in the Docket Files and one copy will be available in the Project 711as.
The data is contained in the following documents Oconee Nuclear Station Units 2/3 Stability of Jocassee Spillway for Se4==4e 1 9 4*= - December 30, 1969.
This completes Duka's commitment of the August 7, 1972 meeting.

-OCONEE NUCLEAR STATION UNITS 2 STABILITY OF JOCASSEE SPILLWAY FOR SEISMIC. LOADING
'The concrete section of ' spillway crest was checked' for stability under different-conditions. : Assumptions and results are described in enclosed sheet J-1.
Con-ky{
dition No.- VIl cons idered: seismic. loading causing ~ borizontal acceleration of 0.1 g andLvertical acceleration equivalent to 0.05.9 A table showing. result of stresses checked in the taintor gates of Keowee spillway
~
- under normal ' and seismic. loadings. i s enclosed in sheet J-2. 'This analysi s applies to Jocassee'taintor: gates.also.
It is. evident;from design computations that Jocass'ee Spillway structure and
^
taintor. gates are safe for seismic loadings used in Oconee design per PSAR.
