One item I

of nonconformance was noted. This pertained to break test results of^ concrete test cylinders which indicated failure of ' concrete in the Unit No.1 building pad to meet strength requirements.

Action,was_ taken by the licensee to improve ~

the strength of subsequent concrete plg. cements to~ our

- -satisfaction.

Core samples' were taken.from the pad ~ ccincrete

'f for special compression strength testing. We'will evaluate the' results of these tests when data is supplied by the i

licensee.for our review.

Ou~r initial impression is that Duke has a rec.sonably good.

rejection of natorials having source deficiencies.
