The staff review of your May 1980 submittal entitled " Response to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission IE Bulletin 79-01B for James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant" has been completed.

During a site inspection, May 14, 1980, it was pointed out to Mr. V. Childs the areas where clarification of the report was needed.

It is our understanding that the following will be accomplished.

a.

Components identified as inside primary containment on the system compo-nents sheets will have the system component evaluation work sheet page reference identified.

b.

The plant identification number listed on the system components sheet are to be identified on the system component evaluation work sheets.

c.

Components identified as outside primary containment that do not meet the accident service conditions as given in the HELB temperature and pressure transient curves, References 1A through 2AY, of your May 1980 report are to be identified in a reference section of the report.

d.

Provide a date when your May 1980 report will be corrected and submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and also provide a date for the sub-mittal of the final report, which will include the analysis of high energy line breaks (HELB), aging, and submergence on systems inside and outside primary containment.
