Virginia Electric and Power Company License Nos. DPR-32 Surry Power Station
& DPR-37 Based on the results of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspection conduc-ted on March 10 - April 4,1980 certain of your activities appear to deviate from your commitments to the Commission as indicated below.
The Final Safety Analysis Report, Section 6.3.1.4 states that the recircula-tion spray valve pit has a baffle installed separating and isolating the redundant piping runs of the Low Head Safety Injection and Recirculation Spray systems from each other and that separate liquid level detectors are installed in each side of the baffle to detect leakage from the piping in l
that side of the pit.
Contrary to the above, on April 3, 1980, neither the baffle nor the second liquid level detector was installed in the recirculation spray valve pit on either unit. No material existed in either units valve pit area to indicate i
that these components had ever been installed.
