Dear Mr. Seidle:
On May 8, 1980, Mr. M.E. Clark notified Mr. C.R. Oberg regarding an item which appeared to be potentially reportable under Regu-lation 10CFR50. 55 (e). The report concerned linear indications found in a pipe spool in the essential service water discharge line. Subsequent to this initial report, it was determined that one additional pipe spool in the essential service water discharge line was made from the came heat of material.
The adequacy of the piping has been evaluated and it has been de-termined that had these pipe flaws gone undetected and uncorrected, a significant reduction in safety would not hava resulted at any time throughout the service life of the Wolf Creek No. 1 Unit; and, therefore, this matter is judged not to be reportable under Regulation 10CFR50.55(e).
