i NOTICE OF DEVIATION i
Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted on March 24-28, 1980, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in accordance with NRC requirements.
Section 5 of the Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel Division Topical report, WCAP 7800-05A, states in part, "Throughout the design, manufacturing, and inspection phases, the activities and operations affecting the quality of the fuel assem-blies and core components are controlled through the use of approved drawings, specifications, instructions, and procedures."
Quality Control Instruction (QCI), Quality Control Deviation Notice (QCDN),
QCI 000112, Revision 8, states in part, "If all other characteristics of the QCI have been checked and accepted, note this on'QCDN."
Contrary to the above, several QCDNs were found whei e all other character-istics of the QCI had been checked and accepted but this was not noted on the QCDN (See Details, Paragraph B.3.c).
