On January 4, 1979, the Commission issued Construction Fermits CPPR-175 & 176 for the Jamesport Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 & 2.
As required by 10 CFR 170.21, Long Island Lighting paid an application fee of $125,000 when the application was filed in June 1974 and construction permit fees totalling $975,800 ($811,600 for Unit 1.and $164,200 for Unit 2) at the time the construction permits were issued.
In accordance with Footnote 3 of Secticn 170.21, the costs incurred in the processing and issuance of the Jamesport 1 & 2 construction permits have been reviewed and they total $895,542 for Unit 1 and $21,078 for Unit 2.
Since the fees paid of
$1,100,800 exceed the cests of processing and issuing the construction permits, which total $916,620, a refund of $184,180 ($41,058 for Unit 1 and $143,122 for Unit 2) is due Long Island Lighting Company. Consequently, we have concurrently authorized the Office of Controller to process the refund and to fonvard it to you as soon as possible.
