Dear Sir,
Per our telecon and your request, I restate that the statement that was attributed to one of the pilots on Flight #170, 1/24/80 was not made by me nor did I hear such a statement being made by anyone else crew or otherwise.
As to the statement by the witness that we flew "directly over" the reactor, I cannot recall individual flights but I doubt that this was the case. In most instances our normal flight path takes us around the Island in a counter-clockwise direction. In rare instances, speed and altitude permitting, we will turn inside the island, but rarely, if ever do we fly over the top of the plant as we are conscious of the towers and prefer to keep large obstacles such as the towers in sight for reasons of safety.
Should you desire any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.
