Gentlemen:
The subject, inspection report identified one violation (O) of Criterion V of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50.
As applicable, our response to the violation includes:
(1) corrective steps which have been taken and results achieved: (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further noncompliance; and (3).the date when full compliance will be achieved.
The NRC position on the cited violation and corresponding AP&L response is provided below:
FRC Position Based on the results of the NRC inspection conducted during February 16-18, 1977, it appears that one of your activities was not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as indicated below:
Criterion V of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50 requires that activities affecting quality shall be prescribed by documented procedures and shall be accomplished in accordance with these procedures. This requirement is further amplified by Section 5 of the licensee's NRC approved Quality Assurance Program.
Contrary to the above, response tests were not conducted on the Nuclear Chicago Counter on January 17, 20, 25, and 27, 1977, as required by H. P. Procedure 1602.32.
