Box 15830 Sacramento, California 95813 Gentlement In an effort to be more responsive to the needs of the public, the Comission has established a document room relating to your application for the Rancho Seco facility at the Escramento City County Library, 1930 T Street, Sacramento, California 95814 (Miss Dorothy Drake, Librarian).

We have provided instructions as noted in the enclosed letter to the

librarians in charge of these document rooms. However, we believe further assistance and guidance would be useful to them and request that you have one of your representatives make periodic checks of the materials available.

In particular, your representative should assure that revised and supple-montal information is properly incorporated in the application and safety analysis report, and that any other amendments, reports, and letters which you have filed with us are available.

It is not necessary that you actu-ally supply these documents as we will forward them to the document room, together with the douements originated by or for AEC such as the followingt AEC letters requesting additional infornation, letters written to you by Regional Offices of the Division of Conpliance, your Environmental Report, the Draf t and Final Detailed Statements and all cor=ents thereon, Safety Evaluations, the report of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards, all Federal Register notices, orders, permits, licenses, any advice rendered by the Attorney General and matters relating to the public hearing on your application (requests for limited appearances, petitions for intervention, orders and decisions of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board, and hearing transcripts).

If you should encounter situations where documents of this type are missing, please provide them if you have them available.

PURPOSE The establishment by the AEC of local public document rooms or centers in areas where nuclear (atomici power plants and facilities are proposed for construction or operation is to _pyovide the public in the vicinity with access to the documentary materials connected with the licensing and public hearings involving such powet plants und facilities, including information on the environmental aspects of the project.
