Test
Description:
A 30' E5-55 tendon was stressed to 70% with a normal 1000-ton VSL stressing jack. At one end of the tendon the
~ strands protruding from the anchor head were cut so that the protrusion was 7-1/2" maximum. Tails were then slipped over the outside strands and seated into a VSL 900-ton lift-off jack.
The lock was then slipped onto the short protrusions. Pulling wedges were lightlytopped into place with a hammer and a 2x4. The jock was then loaded to 200 psi on the gauge and unloaded. Wedges were topped again by the same process as
}
obove. The jack then loaded the tendon until lift-off could l
be seen. The jack was then relaxed and the pulling wedges removed. This process was repeated fifteen times.
