Dear Mr. Price:

This is in reply to Mr. Boyd's letter of March 27 requesting our coments on Florida Power Corporation's change in plans to build only one nuclear unit at their Crystal River Site instead of the two units described in the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report.

It is our understanding that the one unit would be designed for an ultinate output of 2,500 thermal negawatts (885 gross electrical) and would require approximately 810,000 gpm (1,800 c.f.s.) cf cooling water.

Our coments and reccmendations pertaining to the effects of the proposed two-unit plant on fish and wildlife resources, contained in our letter of February 12, are applicable also to the one-unit plant as now proposed. Therefore, we have no additional coments to make on this natter at this time.

The opportunity to express our views is appreciated.

Sincerely yours,
