Reportable Occurrence 76-12.
On October 7, 1976, Rancho Seco personnel were preparing for a plant heatup. Due to a misinterpretation of the actual shutdown calcu-lation procedure, the actual shutdown with Groups 1-4 withdrawn was

Upon discovery of the error, suf ficient boron was aeded to increase the actual shutdown better than -1.47% Ac/K.
This report is being submitted in accordance with the requirements
