Attached is the report of a recent inspection of the subject facility on

August 27-29, 1973. No violations of Regulatory requirements were
identified.

The information contained in the licensee QA audit reports relating to
fuel enrichment crossover confirmed the information submitted to the
Directorate of Licensing in the licensee's letter dated August 3, 1973.

In view of this, and since the potential safety question involving the
difference in diameter and density of the resintered fuel pellets was
resolved during a recent meeting between SMUD personnel and representa-
tives of the Directorate of Licensing, RO:V considers the reported
deficiency satisfactorily resolved.
