THEUs OCONEE 1, 2 & 3 - HICE ENERGY T1PE FAD.UIE EXTERNAL TO CONTAINMENT In response to our December 15, 1972 letter to Duke Power Company on the above subject, Duke made the following responses:
1.
A preliminary analysis by letter, December 29, 1972, 2.
A presentation to the staff. January 18, 1973, 3.
A commitment to corrective actions by letter, January 26, 1973, 4.
A description of near term interim actions that would be taken by letter, February 5, 1973.
To complete our finding that Oconee 1 abould be permitted to operate at full power until full term plant modifications are complete, we must make the determination that the above responses are adequate. Also, our Safety Evaluation Supplement for Units 2 & 3 abould address this review and evaluation prior to licensing Oconee 2.
Oconee 1 will remain at 5% power probably through mid-March and therefore, our finding should be complete prior to that time.
Current Unit 2 projections abow that we should complete our Safety Evaluation by June 1, 1973.
