DESCRIPTI0fl 0F REQUEST: The Inspection and Enforcement Office, Atlanta, and Duke Power Company have filed many linusual Occurrence Reports which involved large nunbers of fish being killed after impingement on the plant cooling water intake screens.

It is re-quested that ESB evaluate the significance of l

the fish impingement problems and assess if i

there are any deleterious impacts on the fish life in this region's lakes and rivers and to i

determine if an Environmental Technical Specifi-cation (ETS) change, presently Appendix B, may I

I be effected to be nore realistic in order to improve existing specification requirements. '
