Following your January 12, 1978 nemorandum to me regarding recent microseismic activity in the proximity of the Oconee Nuclear Station, the Office of Inspection and Enforcement has confirmed the functioning of the Oconce strong motion instruments. A copy of a February 14, 1978 memorandum from IE providing additional details of the Region II inspection on this r.atter is attached.
Note that a report is expected from Duke Power Company in March 1978 that will include an analysis of this seisaic activity.
